When Daniel came to Leaven Kids, he was carrying more than a struggle with reading.
He was carrying the weight of a life that had already known instability.
Daniel is 8½ years old and in 3rd grade. He is a foster child now supported by loving foster parents, and while they care deeply for him, visits with his biological parents can sometimes affect his emotional well-being in difficult ways.
His foster mother shared that Daniel had been struggling greatly with reading. Word recognition was very limited, and learning often felt frustrating and hard.
But after Daniel enrolled in Leaven Kids in November 2025, something beautiful began to happen. Within the very first week, his foster mother noticed progress.
Not only was Daniel beginning to improve academically, but he was also showing a new willingness to try. A new spark. A new confidence.
Now, Daniel often asks to come to program as much as possible because he enjoys the support, structure, and encouragement he receives there.

That is the kind of difference friends like you make. Thank you for investing in the lives of children like Daniel.
